Advises immediate management on project-level issues
Guides junior engineers
Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Reliability & Observability

Define and implement mobile-specific Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs), including crash-free sessions, ANR rates, application startup time, and network success rates.
Design, build, and maintain Datadog dashboards, alerts, and operational playbooks for mobile services.
Ensure mobile applications are properly instrumented to generate actionable telemetry and observability insights.

Tooling & Automation

Develop and enhance automation and reliability tooling under the guidance of the Staff SRE, including:
- Crash and ANR triage workflows
- Automated regression detection for performance and reliability
- Dashboards and bots to surface release health metrics
Contribute to shared libraries and scripts to ensure consistent instrumentation across iOS and Android platforms.

Incident Response

Participate in on-call rotations supporting mobile application incidents.
Lead root cause analysis efforts, document findings, and contribute to blameless postmortems.
Collaborate with backend SREs and service owners to resolve cross-system reliability issues.

Collaboration & Enablement

Partner with mobile engineering teams to embed reliability best practices into development and testing workflows.
Provide guidance on instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting standards.
Advocate for operational readiness and reliability validation prior to feature releases.

Continuous Improvement

Identify operational inefficiencies and automate repetitive processes to reduce toil.
Contribute to the evolution of reliability standards, processes, and tooling across mobile engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
Strong understanding of iOS and/or Android development, including performance profiling techniques.
Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Firebase Crashlytics, or Sentry.
Experience building automation, scripts, or reliability tooling using Python, Go, or similar languages.
Working knowledge of Swift and/or Kotlin for mobile instrumentation.
