About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer

In this role, you will:

Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
Lead Control Management project or virtual teams

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of operational risk management within the financial services industry.
Experience in Risk and Controls, preferably in the first or second line of defense in banking or financial institutions.
Understanding of Consumer, Small, and Business Banking (CSBB) products and services.
Proven ability to function as a Control Lead Officer, supporting Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) execution and driving change management programs.
Skilled in proactive issue identification, root cause analysis, and resolution of control deficiencies, while providing insights into emerging risks.
Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and build strong relationships with key partners across CSBB and enterprise functions.
Expertise in evaluating regulatory and process changes, assessing impacts, and developing implementation plans to close gaps.
Comprehensive understanding of operational risk management and/or operations process management.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead discussions and influence senior management.
Ability to consult, build, and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the immediate department.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to lead high-risk, complex projects and initiatives successfully.

Job Expectations:

Proven expertise in operational risk frameworks, technology risk assessment, and RCA methodologies, Risk assessment of new business initiatives
Ability to evaluate changes to regulations, processes, etc. to assess impacts and to develop implementation plan to close gaps
Comprehensive understanding of operational risk management and Technology Risk Management
Understanding of US consumer laws, SDLC, Change Management frameworks, IT controls, cybersecurity principles, and digital transformation risks.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to interact and lead discussions comfortably with senior levels of management
Knowledge and understanding of financial services: regulations, compliance, policies, process, and procedures
Ability to consult, build, and maintain solid working relationships in and outside of immediate department
Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvements
Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
Ability to prepare management level presentations
Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
